Design and Technical Services
The Design and Technical Service within the Department of Engineering is a central service that supports the Departments worldwide reputation for first-class academic research. It is the largest department in the University, accounting for some 10% of Cambridge University and encompasses a huge diversity of engineering disciplines. To accommodate this diversity the Department is divided into a number of specialist academic divisions.
The Design and Technical Service deliver a manufacturing service that is available to all teaching and research activities in the Department. The group is equipped with a range of both manual and computer controlled machinery and make extensive use of Computer Aided Design, Electronics and Manufacturing facilities as well as traditional trades.
